Our Fabulous Competition with Normandy Tourism, LD Lines and Expatsradio.com to win a super weekend in Honfleur now has a winner! The winner was drawn out of the hat last night. There were well over 900 entries so we thank you for joining us. More competitions coming up soon!
The prize includes return LD Lines Ferry crossing Portsmouth to Le Havre for 2 including one car and 2 nights B&B in a charming hotel in Honfleur, one of the 10 most visited villages of France.
Honfleur is nestled between the English Channel and the Seine Estuary and immediately enchants all visitors by revealing its charming fishing and sailing port, its medieval picturesque narrow streets and old timbered-framed or slate-fronted houses. This magnificent collection of buildings has inspired many painters and mostly the Impressionists. The Vieux Bassin quays are a great place for a wander through the beautiful narrow streets, many art galleries and with traditional restaurants lined up, Honfleur is nirvana for seafood lovers!
Normandy itself is described as the maritime Garden of Eden which sprawls out over France's northwestern corner in a shape roughly resembling a segment of a jigsaw puzzle. Due to its geographic position, this region is blessed with a stunning natural beauty, one that once inspired Maupassant and Monet. Little wonder today's sightseers pack into colourful Rouen, seaside Honfleur and the magnificent and magical Mont-St-Michel. There are also the historical D Day landing beaches.
This is one part of France that will stay with you long after you leave for home.
