Scenario: Waiting at the School (beginner level)

Deux hommes parlent dans une cour d’école pendant qu’ils attendent leurs enfants qui vont bientôt sortir de classe :
Arthur : Salut Patrick ! Il fait froid aujourd’hui ! Patrick : Oui, il fait mauvais. Arthur : Sur mon thermomètre à la maison, il fait moins 2 degrés.
Patrick : Eh bien, selon le mien, il fait 0 degré. Arthur : Alors qu’est ce que tu fais aujourd’hui ? Patrick : Ben... je ne fais rien de spécial aujourd’hui, je vais faire le ménage et je fais la soupe. Et toi ?
Arthur : Je vais faire un peu la même chose parce que je vais faire les courses et la lessive. Patrick : Ce n’est pas très intéressant, mais bon, il faut faire un effort pour aider les femmes !
Arthur : Et oui, c’est vrai ! On va faire un tennis ce vendredi ? Patrick : Ah oui ! Super bonne idée ! J’ai besoin de faire un peu de sport !
Arthur : Moi aussi, je fais trop la cuisine en ce moment. Patrick : Tu veux faire la réservation cet après- midi ?
Arthur : D’accord, je la fais. Patrick : Ah, voici les enfants qui arrivent. Arthur : Ils ont fait de la gym aujourd’hui.

Arthur: Hi Patrick ! It’s cold today! Patrick: Yes, it’s bad weather. Arthur: On my thermometer at home, it’s minus 2 degrees. Patrick: Well, according to mine, it’s 0 degrees. Arthur: So what are you doing today? Patrick: Well... I’m not doing anything special today, I’m going to do housework and I’m making soup. And you? Arthur: I’m going to do somewhat the same thing because I’m doing food shopping and the laundry. Patrick: This isn’t very interesting, but, well, we have to make an effort to help out the wives. Arthur: Well yes, that’s right! Are we going to play some tennis this Friday? Patrick: Oh yes! Super idea! I need to do some sports! Arthur: Me too, I’m doing too much cooking nowadays. Patrick: Do you want to make the reservation this afternoon? Arthur: OK, I’ll make it. Patrick: Ah, here are the children. Arthur: They did some gym today....

Scenario: Exchanging Recipes (intermediate level)

Une conversation entre deux amis lors du dîner.
Karine : Comment fais-tu pour faire un gratin aussi onctueux ? Le mien est toujours trop sec ! Laurent : Il faut rajouter un peu plus de crème liquide.
Karine : Quand même, tout ce que tu fais dans la cuisine est un vrai régal ! Laurent : Quand tu fais les courses, il faut faire attention de bien acheter des pommes de terre ‘charlotte’ et ton gratin dauphinois sera réussi. Karine : Ah bon ! Pour Noël, c’est moi qui ferai le repas et on sera 12 à table ! Ça me stresse !
Laurent : T’en fais pas ! Je suis certain que tu te débrouilleras très bien ! Karine : Oui, mais ça fait longtemps que je n’ai pas cuisiné pour autant de personnes.
Laurent : Tu peux faire un plat simple. Par example, un feuilleté au saumon avec une crème aux poireaux. Karine : T’appelles ça simple ? Tu sais faire ça toi ?
Laurent : Oui, bien sûr ! Dans la cuisine, le plus important c’est de bien faire toute la préparation à l’avance et après tu fais de la magie ! Karine : Tu es un magicien mais moi je ne suis qu’une apprentie et je pense que je vais faire faire ce feuilleté au saumon par un traiteur !
Laurent : Sacrée Karine, tu me fais rire !

Two friends are talking at the dinner table....
Karine: How do you do it to make a gratin so moist? Mine is always too dry! Laurent: You have to add a little more cream.
Karine: Anyway, everything you do in the kitchen is a real treat! Laurent: When you do your food shopping, you have to be careful to buy Charlotte potatoes and your gratin dauphinois will be a success.
Karine: Oh really! For Christmas, I’m the one who will make the meal and we will be 12 at the table! I feel stressed! Laurent: Don’t you worry! I’m sure that you’ll get on just fine!
Karine: Yes, but it’s been a long time since I’ve cooked for so many people. Laurent: You can make a simple meal. For example: a salmon pastry with creamed leeks.
Karine: You call that simple? Do you know how to do that? Laurent: Yes, of course! In the kitchen, the most important thing is to do the prep in advance and then you make magic!
Karine: You’re a magician, but me, I’m just an apprentice and I think I will have the salmon pastry done by a caterer! Laurent: Ha, Karine, you make me laugh!
