From our archive, the American singer-songwriter Alice Peacock found time to chat with Expatsradio.com's country and western music presenter Steve Wilson about her new CD 'Who I Am’.
Born in Minnesota her home is now in Chicago, so still in the Midwest. Although influenced by many different artists we do get the impression that the singer-songwriters from the 60s like Tom Waits, Joni Mitchell, Carol King, Elton John and Carly Simon played an important role. Oh, let's not forget the Beatles of course. Alice Peacock loves being on tour and travels all over the United States but when it comes to writing she prefers to be at home. She says that being carsick doesn't exactly help to give you a lot of inspiration but also needs her own space to get in the mood for writing. Why she has written certain songs is also discussed. We learn more about the other musicians who work with Alice Peacock either on tour or in the studio. Has she been over to the UK? She most certainly has and admits that the music fans in both the UK and Ireland are more aware than in the States. She would love to come back not only because of the audiences but the tea and scones are beckoning as well. Watch this space because Alice Peacock has promised to let us know when she will next be performing over here again.
