Expatsradio speaks to Robert Brealey, Pensions Consultant at Siddalls about the possibility of moving you pension abroad via the QROPS scheme and indeed, is it a good idea?
He emphasises that taking advice is the key and that you should not be influenced by so-called advisers who are out to make money from you and who sometimes make extravagant statements. They may also not be regulated sufficiently and therefore your hard-earned pension could be at risk.
What about the costs? Clearly, sending money abroad from a UK pension incurs fees and exchange rate fluctuations may not always be to your benefit. With the euro crisis ongoing how will that effect your savings?
Robert deals with a range of related topics in this programme and we hope it will make you think before you take any life-changing decisions.
Robert can be contacted via the Siddall's website at www.siddalls.net and you can talk to us at expatsradio@hotmail.com or info@expatsradio.com anytime.
If you have topics which you feel would be of interest to our listeners, please do make contact and we'll try to make a programme for you.
